Hey, I’m Amie, the face behind Something Blue.

And if you don’t know me by now, I love telling a good story! So, grab yourself a glass of wine, get comfy, and have a read all about us - because let’s be honest, who can get to know you in just a few words?

I have the absolute pleasure of working alongside an incredible team who help bring our couples' dream days to life. We're the people you'll find running around with timelines in one hand, safety pins in the other, fixing veils, calming nerves, fluffing dresses, chasing suppliers and somehow still finding time to tell you how amazing you look.

Before launching Something Blue, I spent years working as an Events Manager within wedding venues. It didn't take long for me to realise that there really is no such thing as "just a simple wedding." Every wedding, whether it's an intimate celebration or a huge party, has a million moving parts behind the scenes.

That's exactly why Something Blue was born.

We specialise in bespoke wedding planning and on-the-day coordination because we know just how important it is that you, your partner, and all your favourite people get to enjoy every second. Our job is to worry about the timings, suppliers, logistics, last-minute hiccups and all the little things you'd never even think about... so you don't have to.

And here's a little confession from someone who's been there...

When I got married, I thought I could coordinate my own wedding day. After all, I'd worked in weddings for years! I couldn't have been more wrong. Looking back, it's one of my biggest wedding regrets. Instead of being completely present, I found myself thinking about logistics and making sure everything was happening as planned - & sorting bar problems!! It's the very reason I'm so passionate about what we do - because every couple deserves to enjoy every single moment without feeling responsible for what's happening behind the scenes.

With over 12 years of wedding experience, we've pretty much seen it all. Rain plans? No problem. Missing buttonholes? We've got you. Suppliers running late? Already sorted. Family drama? We'll handle it with a smile (and probably a clipboard). The best weddings are the ones where the couple have absolutely no idea how much is happening behind the scenes... because we're quietly making sure everything runs exactly as it should.

Of course, Something Blue isn't just me. I'm incredibly lucky to work alongside a wonderful team who share my passion for creating unforgettable weddings. Together, we're the calm faces in the background, the problem-solvers, the timeline keepers, the dress fluffers, the bouquet holders, and the people making sure your day runs exactly as you've imagined.

We don't often step in front of the camera, but below you'll find a few photos of me and the team in action, along with the occasional professional headshot we've somehow managed to squeeze in amongst the madness of wedding season. And yes... before you say it, I know we need some fresh professional photos! If someone could just kindly add another month to the year, there's a good chance we'd actually get around to booking that photoshoot.

Story Behind the Name

One of the questions I'm asked most is, "Why did you change your business name from Amie Nicola Events to Something Blue?"

And honestly... without knowing the story, I completely understand why it might sound a little cheesy!

The truth is, Something Blue isn't just a nod to the wedding tradition. It represents exactly who we become for my couples throughout their wedding journey.

Yes, I'm your wedding planner and coordinator. But somewhere between the planning meetings, WhatsApp messages, late-night voice notes, coffee catch-ups and the inevitable moments of panic, I usually become so much more.

I'm the extra best friend. The bridesmaid you never knew you needed. The calm voice when everything feels overwhelming.

The person who remembers the little things, fixes the unexpected, celebrates every milestone and is completely in your corner from start to finish.

At one particular wedding, the bride asked if I would wear dusty blue instead of my usual all-black outfit so I blended beautifully with her colour theme. (We're always happy to swap our signature black for your colour palette if you'd like!)

Then came the speeches.

As the bride and groom thanked everyone who had helped them along the way, the bride became emotional. She spoke about the months we'd spent planning together, the phone calls, the messages and the voice notes that had got her through some stressful moments.

She finished by saying:

"Amie really is the Something Blue to my wedding that I never knew I needed."

I'll never forget that moment.

It instantly clicked.

Something old. Something new. So let us be your Something Blue.

The name suddenly meant so much more than a wedding tradition, it perfectly captured how I want every couple to feel: supported, reassured and cared for, with someone beside them who genuinely wants their day to be everything they've dreamed of.

So that's the story behind the name.

And now, I can't imagine it being anything else.
