I've been working in the wedding industry for over 12 years and have had the privilege of supporting over 300 couples throughout their wedding journeys.
Over the years, I've worked in a variety of roles, including Venue Manager, Events Manager, Wedding Planner, and Wedding Coordinator. This experience gives me a unique perspective on every aspect of a wedding day. I understand how venues operate, how suppliers work, and how to bring all the moving parts together to create a seamless experience for my couples.
Having worked on both the venue side and the planning side, I know how best to communicate with venues and suppliers, anticipate potential challenges, and find practical solutions before they become problems.
And if that wasn't enough wedding experience, I was also a bride myself in 2024! After 12 years together, I married my wonderful husband, Luis, so I understand first-hand the excitement, emotions, pressures, and endless decision-making that come with planning your own wedding.
Combining professional expertise with personal experience allows me to support my couples with both practical knowledge and genuine understanding, helping you enjoy the planning process as much as the wedding day itself.

The honest answer? It depends on your venue, your plans, and the level of support you'd like on your wedding day.
Having worked for many years as both a Venue Event Manager and a Wedding Planner/Coordinator, I know there is a clear difference between the two roles.
A Venue Event Manager's primary responsibility is to ensure the venue operates smoothly throughout your wedding day. They'll oversee the venue team, manage venue logistics, coordinate catering and bar services, and handle any issues that arise within the venue itself.
A Wedding Coordinator, on the other hand, is focused entirely on you, your plans, and your vision for the day.
If a supplier is running late, your coordinator is there. If your dress needs bustling, your coordinator is there. If your confetti hasn't arrived at the right location, your coordinator is there. Meanwhile, if the bar runs out of beer or there's an issue with the venue facilities, that's where your Event Manager steps in.
Throughout my career, I've worked at venues where the in-house team had every detail covered, and others where having an independent coordinator made all the difference. The reality is that it's often difficult to know which situation you'll have until the day itself.
A Wedding Coordinator can be especially valuable if you're planning a dry-hire wedding, using multiple locations, organising your own décor and setup, managing lots of suppliers, moving furniture or styling elements throughout the day, or simply want someone dedicated to making sure everything runs exactly as you've imagined.
Most importantly, a coordinator allows you, your partner, your family, and your bridal party to relax and fully enjoy the day, knowing someone is quietly managing all the moving parts and any arising problems behind the scenes.
If you're unsure whether you need a coordinator, I'd always be happy to have a chat about your venue and plans and give you honest advice on what level of support would work best for you.

Something Blue is run by myself, Amie, so from your first enquiry through to planning meetings and emails, you'll always deal directly with myself.
That said, I have a fantastic team behind the scenes who support me when weddings require additional hands on deck.
First, a special mention has to go to my husband, Luis. He joins me for weddings where furniture needs moving throughout the day, allowing me to stay focused on coordinating your wedding rather than lifting chairs and tables! Whether it's turning a ceremony space into a reception area or moving furniture between locations, he's the muscle behind the operation. His current record is moving 450 chairs in under an hour!
I also work alongside a wonderful team of experienced coordinators: Florence, Lucy, Helen, and Stephanie. For weddings with multiple venues, larger guest numbers, complex logistics, or lots of moving parts, I'll always bring additional support to ensure everything runs smoothly.
My goal is to make sure every wedding has the right level of coordination and support, so no matter the size or style of your celebration, you'll have a team dedicated to keeping everything on track while you enjoy every moment.

It's a question no one likes to think about, but it's an important one!
The good news is that, so far, that over 12+ years, I've never missed a wedding. However, I always have contingency plans in place to ensure your day is fully covered should the unexpected happen.
I work closely with a trusted team of experienced wedding coordinators who regularly support me at weddings throughout the year. In the unlikely event that I am unable to attend, a full handover of all your plans, timelines, supplier information, and wedding-day details would be provided to one of my coordinators.
Because my team are already familiar with how I work and have extensive experience coordinating weddings themselves, you can feel confident that your day would be in safe and capable hands. My priority is always making sure your wedding runs smoothly, no matter what happens behind the scenes.
While I sincerely hope this backup plan never needs to be used, it's there to give you complete peace of mind.

Absolutely! In fact, around half of our bookings come from couples who have done most of the planning themselves but need some support pulling everything together in the final few months.
We love stepping in at this stage, we'll work with everything you've already planned, identify any gaps that need filling, and help bring all the moving parts together into one clear, manageable plan.
This can include creating detailed timelines, coordinating with your suppliers, reviewing your plans, troubleshooting any concerns, and making sure everyone knows where they need to be and when. Most importantly, we'll take those last-minute stresses off your shoulders so you can focus on enjoying the lead-up to your wedding.
Our Bespoke Planning Package is perfect for couples who are feeling overwhelmed towards the finish line and want an experienced professional to help turn months of planning into a seamless wedding day.

Every couple is different, and I always try to be as flexible as possible when it comes to communication. My goal is to work in a way that feels easy and comfortable for you throughout your planning journey.
You'll have access to my online planning platform, where all your wedding information, notes, timelines, and documents are stored in one place. It allows us both to keep track of plans with live updates and ensures nothing gets forgotten along the way.
Email is usually my preferred method of communication as it helps keep everything organised, easy to refer back to, and ensures no important details get missed. That said, many of my couples love WhatsApp, and I'm always happy to receive a message or even a cheeky voice note - I love a VN!
Whenever we discuss wedding details via WhatsApp, I'll also update your planning platform so all your information remains together in one central place.
I do try my best to maintain a healthy work-life balance (laughable to write really as I never practice what I preach) and try switch my phone off outside of working hours. However, I know that many couples find time to plan their wedding in the evenings after work, children & life, so you'll often find me available on evenings especially Wednesdays for what I like to call "Wedding Wednesdays!"
I aim to respond to all messages within 12 hours and no later than 48 hours wherever possible. During peak wedding season, response times can occasionally be a little longer, especially when I'm coordinating weddings and working long event days. Rest assured, I'll always get back to you as soon as I can, although I'll try my best not to reply at 4am when I've just arrived back at my hotel after a wedding!
Above all, I want communication to feel personal, supportive, and stress-free, so you'll always know where to find me when you need me.

In an ideal world, absolutely! Building a relationship with my couples is one of my favourite parts of the planning process, and I meet around 98% of my couples before their wedding day.
That said, life can be busy, and many of my couples live further afield or even overseas. In some cases, the first time we've met in person has been the day before or on the morning of the wedding - and it has worked perfectly well!
Thanks to modern technology, we can still get to know each other through phone calls, Zoom meetings, emails, WhatsApp messages, voice notes and endless tags on instagram!
The number of planned meetings included will depend on the package you book, but additional meetings can always be arranged if you'd like them or if I feel they would be helpful. Some couples prefer a quick catch-up over coffee, others enjoy a planning meeting over a glass of wine, while some find a venue walk-through or site visit the most helpful way to finalise the details.
As with everything I do, I'm flexible and will tailor our communication and meetings to suit you, your schedule, and your needs. Whether we meet once, twice, or several times before the big day, my aim is to ensure you feel comfortable, supported, and completely confident that your wedding is in safe hands.

The simple answer is: anywhere!
I'm based in Kent and grew up in London, so most of the weddings I currently work on are across Kent, London, Essex, and the South of England. However, I absolutely love exploring new venues and destinations, and I'm always excited to travel wherever your wedding takes me.
In fact, Summer 2026 marks my first destination wedding in Spain, and I'm hoping it's the start of many more adventures supporting couples both across the UK and abroad.
Any travel requirements, accommodation needs, and associated costs will always be discussed upfront and clearly outlined in your proposal, so there are no surprises along the way.
If you're wondering whether I cover your location, the answer is almost certainly yes - just ask!

Quality will always be more important to me than quantity.
For wedding coordination, there isn't a strict limit on the number of weddings I take on each year. However, I do try to space them out where possible, this allows me to give each couple the time, attention, and energy they deserve both before and during their wedding day.
When it comes to wedding planning, I am much more selective about the number of couples I work with. Wedding planning is a highly personal service that requires a significant amount of time behind the scenes, from supplier sourcing and venue visits to meetings, timelines, and ongoing support throughout the planning journey.
While it might be tempting to fill the diary with as many weddings as possible, I've always believed that providing an exceptional service means knowing my limits. The more weddings I'm coordinating and planning, the less time I have available for each individual couple - and that's not the experience I want to provide.
I will always be honest and transparent about my availability at the time of enquiry and booking. Every couple deserves to feel like a priority, and I only take on the amount of work that allows me to deliver the level of service and care that Something Blue is known for.

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer to this, and that’s one of the things I love most about weddings today.
I used to specialise in very high-end, large-scale weddings, but since COVID there’s been a real shift towards what I like to call “real weddings” - celebrations that can be beautifully simple or luxuriously detailed, but are always grounded in what feels right for the couple.
At the moment, I’m working on weddings across a huge range of budgets. For example, I have a coordination job this Thursday with a £12k budget and a full planning job this Sunday with a £120k budget - and both are equally important, equally special, and require just as much care and attention. There really is no “typical” budget for working with me.
If you’re looking for on-the-day coordination, your overall wedding budget doesn’t matter at all. My role is to step in and ensure your plans run smoothly, whatever you’ve chosen to spend and plan.
If you’re looking for full wedding planning, I work with a set starting fee then a % of your overall wedding budget. This means the service adapts to your plans rather than limiting them.
The most important thing is not the size of your budget, but whether it feels realistic for what you’re hoping to create. Weddings almost always cost more than expected, especially when planning independently, so being honest and practical from the beginning really helps set the right expectations.
It’s also worth remembering that inspiration from Pinterest and Instagram doesn’t always reflect real-life budgets or logistics. Your wedding doesn’t need to look like anything other than yours.
At the heart of it all, your wedding is about your love for each other. Everything else is there simply to enhance that and make the day feel even more special.

It’s a really fair question, and I completely understand why couples often compare it to a normal working day.
And to be honest, for some suppliers I agree with you - there are definitely some who expect meals quite early on before even starting their service (I’ll gently say this is usually the live bands… though we do love them!).
However, for suppliers like planners, coordinators, photographers, videographers, and anyone working all day on your wedding, the situation is a bit different. We are often on-site for 10–12+ hours without proper breaks, constantly moving, problem-solving, and ensuring everything runs smoothly in the background so you and your guests can enjoy the day.
Unlike a typical workplace, we usually don’t have access to storage, fridges, or a proper place to keep or heat our own food. Many venues also don’t allow external food to be stored in their catering facilities, which means supplier meals provided by the venue or caterer become the most practical and reliable option.
That said, even when meals are provided, we often don’t get the chance to sit down at the allocated time because the reality of a wedding day is that we’re always “on.” I always bring my own snacks and drinks as backup, and to keep energy levels up throughout the day.
The truth is, supplier meals aren’t about luxury - they’re about ensuring we can keep going and give you the best possible service right through to the end of the night. A well-fed supplier team is a happy, alert, and efficient one… and that means your day runs even more smoothly! Noones wants a fainted supplier...
